1) Develop a plan for follow-up/treatment as necessary for babies who have an elevated bilirubin.
2) Manage hyperbilirubinemia utilizing phototherapy in the nursery.
3) Determine if phototherapy is effective and if not, consult with an attending pediatrician or neonatologist regarding further care.
Evaluation -
1) (yes/no) Residents should manage at least 2 infants who require phototherapy.
